NEW GROUP FITNESS SCHEDULE AUGUST 1ST!

Our new group fitness schedule is effective August 1st. We are excited to be able to offer Zumba on Monday evening and Wednesday morning! In addition we have added a Wednesday evening Kickboxing class and an earlier Pilates class.

Also, don't forget our ongoing workshops. This summer's sessions include Sunrise Yoga on the beach and Boot Camp. You can pay the drop in fee and attend any class that works with your schedule!

Tennis Elbow

Most people have heard of "Tennis Elbow" (lateral epicondylitis) which affects the outside of the elbow, but have you ever heard of "Golfer's Elbow" (medial epicondylitis)? It is similar to tennis elbow but it affects the inside of the elbow.

What is Golfer's Elbow?
Golfer's elbow occurs when there is damage to the muscles, tendons and ligaments around the elbow joint and forearm. Small tears, called micro tears, form in the tendons and muscles which control movement of the wrist and forearm. They cause inflammation, pain and restriction of movement.

Hotel Room Workouts

Elaine Egidio asked: Many gym members who come to the gym regularly, find it hard to maintain their exercise routine while traveling. Can you recommend exercises that can be done in a hotel room using items that are easy to pack such as dyna bands, etc.

Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer Charlie Grant answers:

The first thing I would do when arriving at a new hotel is to ask where the closest gym is and a phone number. If there wasn't one close or it didn't look good, I would use my Resistance bands and Dyna bands which are light weight and easy to pack in your luggage...
