Try One of Our Nine Yoga Classes And Start On Your Own Personal Path To A Healthier Body, Mind and Spirit |
|
| |
Practicing yoga is a lower impact way of exercising that can transform your entire life. If you’ve never tried yoga before or if you’ve been practicing for years, EPH&F now offers many stimulating Yoga classes for all levels including beginners, intermediate and advanced.
We now offer Yoga classes seven days a week, with some days offering two classes. We can also accommodate most schedules by conveniently offering Yoga classes in the morning, afternoon and evening. Our five Certified Yoga Instructors bring their own dynamic, creative styles to each class. Classes include Yoga with Barb, Yoga for Beginner's with Barb, Yoga/Pilates with Heather, Yoga with Cindy, Yoga with Tatiana and our newest Yoga class, Vinyasa Power Yoga Flow with Lindsey on Saturdays from 10:00am-11:00am.
“There are countless benefits to incorporating yoga into your daily life,” said Lindsey. “It increases flexibility, develops strength and helps create balance. It detoxifies the body, empowers the mind, and uplifts the spirit. It releases tension, relieves stress, reduces anxiety and depression. It promotes restful sleep, alleviates headaches and eases back pain. As you practice Yoga, you instill self- awareness being guided by your mindful, flowing breath. Deeply stretching in yoga poses elongates your muscles giving you a toned, lean, healthy body. No matter what level of physical fitness you are currently at, implementing Yoga into your exercise regime will only enhance your overall well-being. Yoga keeps you relaxed, calm and peaceful.”
Please join us in our Yoga classes and see why this practice has been enjoyed for thousands of years! |

Congratulations to Our January 2011 Real Results Participants for Making the Commitment!
|
|
| |
Our January session of Real Results is off to a great start! We have a total of 19 participants in the program this session. Several of these members are returning “Real Resulters” that continue to work toward their goals. We have a great group of people that are very motivated and have targets that vary from 10 pounds to 80 pounds! We also have a mother and daughter pair that joined together to keep each other on track with workouts and at home.
Members are in the process of completing their nutrition assessments and meeting with trainers to develop a personalized exercise program. Our kickoff meeting was on January 19th. Owner, Paul Mazzella explained that the group is recognized as our “VIPS” for the 8 week program. They are given all of our support and the tools to accomplish their goals. “Regardless of what we give you, the results come from inside each and every one of you. This is the first step of your journey. Congratulations on making this commitment to your health!” Paul stated during the kickoff meeting.
Our main goal this week for the group is to get everyone up to speed with their plans and assigned to an ongoing group training session. The program runs for 8 weeks and will provide members with support via training, nutrition and general motivation. Average weight loss for the program ranges between 8-15 pounds depending on total weight loss goals. Participants also see significant changes in measurements and body fat.
The Nutrition Blog on the Eastpointe Health & Fitness website will continue to be updated to provide you with an inside view of what happens during the program as well as some of the ups and downs that participants experience while they are getting healthy!
Looking forward to another successful group! |

12 Ways To Turn Your Fitness Resolution Into A Fitness Routine |
|
| |
To be published in Around the Hook - February 2011
New Year’s resolutions are easy to make but harder to keep. The secret to keeping an exercise plan throughout the year is for fitness to become a routine rather than just another resolution. A healthy lifestyle must become part of a long-term regular routine rather than be thought of as a short-term solution. The number one New Year's resolution people make is to lose weight. Many expect it to happen overnight and then lose their motivation when that doesn't happen. Often when a person makes a resolution, they put up so many obstacles before they even begin that they sabotage their success. Or, they don’t realize that they really have to change. Try to stay open to the process and be willing to do things differently. Think about it, if you’re ideas about fitness worked you’d already be in shape. You made a resolution because your way didn’t work. Here are our top recommendations to help you stick with your new year’s resolutions.
