Your Fitness Questions on Facebook!

We invited you to ask your most pressing fitness questions, which we then handed over to our personal trainers to answer. Here are some of your questions and our trainers’ answers.

Ayman El-Sawa asked: If I work out 3 times a week, what's the best way to divide muscle groups to get the maximum impact?

With 3 workouts a week you could actually do full body workouts each time and not over work any groups. If you did want to split them up, there are many schools of thought as to the best way to do it and it would depend mostly on your specific goals. Read full answer.

Jim Henkel asked: When working out I need not only to gain strength but endurance as well. I struggle at times on ways to work endurance into my lifting routine, I run and bike for endurance on an aerobic level, but I need to figure out a few different ways to work in endurance lifting?? Any ideas?

Generally speaking, slightly lower weights, higher repetitions and pushing to muscle exhaustion will, over time, increase your muscular endurance. Read full answer.

Phil DiBenedetto asked: Is it true that too much cardio may actually hinder the goal of muscle growth? And is cardio best done before or after weight training?

There are some studies that claim to have found that but generally they are very extreme amounts of cardio and not what people with a good balanced routine would come close to doing. Read full answer.
